Résumé :
Treasure Island is an adventure novel by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson, first published in 1883. An alcoholic ex-pirate Captain passes away and leaves a chest which contains a secret map amongst other treasures. The map is highly sought after by all the wrong people. The male protagonist Jim Hawkin's finds the map and speaks to his friends Dr. Livesey and a squire, Mr. Trelawney and they decide to venture to this mystical treasure island to hunt for said treasure.

He became renowned for his diverse body of work, which includes novels, essays, poetry, and travel writing. Some of his most celebrated works are Treasure Island, Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Kidnapped, and A Child's Garden of Verses. Stevenson was educated at the University of Edinburgh and attended both the Edinburgh Academy Senior School and Edinburgh Law School. Although initially studying law, he pursued a career in writing, drawing inspiration from authors such as Charles Dickens, Edgar Allan Poe, Walter Scott, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Guy de Maupassant.
