Andre Norton was the pen name of Alice Mary Norton, one of the most influential and prolific writers of twentieth-century science fiction and fantasy. Publishing across seven decades, Norton became especially known for adventure-driven speculative fiction that combined vivid world-building, lost civilizations, alien contact, time travel, psychic powers, and young protagonists forced into dangerous, transformative journeys. Her work helped shape the development of science fiction and fantasy for both adult and younger readers, and her books remained widely read through repeated paperback and library editions.Norton's major works include the Time Traders novels, the Solar Queen series, the Witch World books, and many other science fiction and fantasy adventures that made her a central figure in the field.
