Kara has mixed her love of nature and her love of writing in her children's stories. Her messages are of positivity, inclusion, and the love of the environment. She wants to share these messages with her young readers, so they will grow up caring for the environment and each other too.? Kara lives in Northern California with her husband, daughter and their dog. When Kara is not writing her next favorite activity is being in nature - gardening, mediating, walking, she loves it all.

She began her academic journey with a degree in Sociology from Ithaca College in New York, where she developed a strong interest in human behavior and social dynamics.Her passion for healthcare led her to earn a Bachelor of Nursing degree from the University of Washington. She later completed a Master's degree in Nursing Administration at the University of California, San Francisco, and has worked in nursing and infection prevention with a focus on improving patient care.Kara's writing reflects her wide-ranging interests, including science, gardening, the environment, reading, and community.
