Michael Ry?jin sat in his SUV and sorted through email on his cell phone, discarding the junk and relentless offers of evening companionship from the many women in his social and philanthropic circles. Something drew his notice to the beautiful woman coming across the parking lot and his inner dragon growled quietly in approval. He had casually watched her negotiate the puddle by her car door and collapse down into her seat, but after a few minutes he noticed that the car hadn't started. He tried to see the woman through the rainy windows, but no luck. His dragon stirred restlessly making Michael wonder why he was disturbed.
