Cecilia needs a Christmas miracle. She's sure that's what it will take to get her ex-boyfriend to stop looking at her across the bar like she might take him home. The problem is that she might take him home, especially if she has another drink and starts feeling sorry for herself, the way she has been since she spent Thanksgiving eating takeout Chinese and watching sappy romantic comedies alone. Her chances of finding someone to distract her feel about as likely as tonight's forecast for snow, unless you count Miles, which she does not.

Miles is the exact opposite of a miracle. He's a smirky, indie rock frontman with a constant line of women vying to be the subject of his next breakup album. He's also Cecilia's enemy neighbor. She's pretty sure it's a law of the universe that you shouldn't hook up with your neighbor, enemy or not. This doesn't stop him from sliding onto the barstool beside her and enticing her into an all-night marathon of highly unorthodox holiday traditions. As Cecilia enters a world filled with partygoers, poptarts, and paper snowflake ceilings, she only knows two things for sure. They won't fall in love. It isn't going to snow.
