Many of us go through life focused on survival. Just getting through the day and what life throws at us. Few of us have the time to experience life, enjoy life or, more importantly, reflect upon and challenge our own ways of looking at life. Following a series of personal losses, King Hill set out, admittedly, to use poetry as a form of personal therapy, but quickly re-directed his energy to move forward, to live life, to get to know people more deeply, and to help others do the same. In this book, FIRST, Hill organizes his work in five chapters: Love, Encourage, Empathize, Question and Smile and offers the poems in each chapter as a spark for anyone looking to laugh, love or re-set their personal perspective - or just as a complement to a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.

Biographie:
Born in Los Angeles, California, and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, King Hill was raised along with two brothers by a single mom. He lived eight short feet from his neighbor, was educated in public schools, and writing wasn't in his future. His mother found love when King was 17. His stepfather opened up for him a new world of possibilities, encouragement and love. King has been an advertising executive for more than 30 years.
