Résumé :
I knew I was going to hit her and deliberately run her off the road. I wanted her dead. I remember screaming aloud just that. I slammed into the rear of that little Citation and it began to careen out of control. I watched, smiling happily, as it headed straight for a utility pole knowing she would get what was coming to her. The car slammed into the hard pole, leaving an eerie screech and loud thud echoing in the dark night air. Still feeling very proud of myself for what I'd done, I approached the wreck. Damn! She was still alive. Then slowly she began to open her eyes. At that instant she saw me. She just stared at me. Not the frantic frightened look I expected; it was different-almost an empty stare, a hopeless stare, an innocent stare from innocent eyes. Something stirred deep inside me; I don't know what happened at that moment. Did I become instantly sober? I wasn't sure, but suddenly felt lower than a snake. I couldn't watch any further and I fled those innocent eyes, but the memory was burned into my mind forever.
