A young addict has to negotiate with a mysterious old woman, who may or may not be real, to fight for custody of her children, overcome addiction and be successful in life, whilst hiding from her abusive ex-husband ... Adele is a single mother of two boys and lives in the small rural town of Yarrabadah NSW. She is unable to shake an addiction to alcohol since she left her abusive husband Rob, a police officer, and is afraid he'll find her and the boys. Her low self-esteem and addiction prevent her from succeeding as a vocalist and guitarist and from finding love with musician Benny. Life worsens when she 'comes to' after an alcohol induced blackout to find she's accepted money for sex from a stranger. Then representatives from the 'Department of Communities and Justice' knock on her door investigating reports of child neglect. A mysterious, threatening old woman begins stalking Adele and coming too close to her boys. Adele follows her down a dark alley in the town's industrial estate, but the woman disappears. Who is this old woman and why is she stalking Adele? Will Adele lose custody of her children? Will she ever shake the control alcohol has over her? Will her abusive ex-husband find her?...
