Résumé :
We Will Join You is a children's book that tells the story of a school formerly exclusive to cheetahs, now welcoming animals of all types. The cheetahs, being the fastest creatures in the forest, have always taken the lead. However, they soon discover that true friendship and joy come from understanding and embracing the uniqueness of others. ? In this diverse school, we meet a delightful cast of characters. There's Owl, who is too worried to try new things. Panda tries, but their efforts often go unnoticed by their classmates. Squirrel, who moves so quickly that it's hard for others to keep up with him, and Beaver, who enjoys his daily routine. One day during recess, Recess Raccoon notices that the cheetahs have claimed the best spot in the forest for themselves. Realizing that this creates an unfair divide, she decides to teach the cheetahs an important lesson about inclusion and allyship. She encourages them to understand that the other animals also want to play and have fun but express themselves in different ways. The cheetahs agree to join the other animals in their games and activities. The cheetahs develop a newfound understanding and respect for their classmates. We Will Join You is a tale that teaches children the values of empathy, understanding, and embracing diversity. It encourages young readers to appreciate others' unique qualities, communicate effectively, and work together to create a harmonious and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive....
Biographie:
I am a parent, an elementary school counselor, a child therapist, a counseling professor, and now an author. I have supported numerous children, parents and teacher through various emotional and behavioral challenges. My expertise in diverse students, inclusion, and students with hidden disabilities, has given me insights into effective educational and therapeutic approaches and the ability to empower children to overcome obstacles and flourish. My role as a parent has given me a unique perspective on the joys and challenges of raising children, understanding the intricacies of child development, and fostering a nurturing school and home environment for their growth. As an elementary school counselor, I work closely with young students, addressing their social and emotional needs, providing guidance in social skills, playground and recess issues and helping them navigate the early stages of their educational journey. As an author, I now have the opportunity to share my insights with a wider audience. I am thrilled to start this journey.
