What contributes to an unhealthy lifestyle? Often linked to decreased physical activity and lack of healthy choices in diet, The Public Health Agency of Canada, Canadian Community Health Survey Data, as well as Canadian Health Measures Survey indicate there are a variety of factors that lead one toward the disease of obesity. Over the past ten years, statistics show a high-rise of this disease and how obesity is only addressed when an individual is diagnosed with it, leaving little success in achieving healthy results that are sustained over a long period of time. Believing prevention is key, author Lee Monga, provides a well-researched paper that discusses his observations on how to address the obesity epidemic in Canada. With a focus of looking at an individual's behavior as well as their economic and social environments, research students and health enthusiasts will enjoy delving into the statistical outlooks of this disease and how its progress can be changed for the future.
Biographie:
Lee Pacific Banza Monga is a registered nurse with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Environmental Studies, attended Master's degree graduate studies in Environment Resource Management, and graduated as Master of Science in Environmental Health. Through professional experiences both in Canada and abroad, Lee has witnessed how obesity can negatively affect the lives of many individuals, and wishes that this research paper can help expand on how to better address this disease.
