Knapp, the founder of the state theory of money, and Marcel Mauss, the renowned father of French ethnology. He was influenced by the German historical school and prominent figures like Max Weber and Georg Simmel, among others. His magnum opus, Sacred Money, stands as one of the great classics in the theory of money, comparable to Simmel's Philosophy of Money.
