Résumé :
Nobody's Boy (original title: Sans Famille) is a novel by French author Hector Malot. The story follows the life of an orphan boy named Remi, who is abandoned as a young child and goes on a journey to find his true identity and place in the world. Remi is taken in by a kind street performer named Vitalis, who teaches him to play the harp and perform in the streets. Together with Vitalis and his troupe of performing animals, Remi travels across France, encountering a variety of people and situations. Along the way, Remi discovers clues to his past and gradually pieces together the truth about his origins. What is his origin? Are you curious to know the true identity of Reni? The novel deals with themes of identity, family, and social class, as Remi struggles to find a sense of belonging in a society that treats him as an outsider due to his lack of family and social status. Nobody's Boy has been adapted into various forms, including films, TV shows, and even an opera.
Biographie:
Hector-Henri Malot, also known as Hector Malot, was a French writer who was born in La Bouille, Seine-Maritime, on May 20, 1830. He died on July 18, 1907. He went to school for law in Rouen and Paris, but he eventually fell in love with writing. He reviewed plays for Lloyd Francais and wrote books for L'Opinion Nationale. Les Amants, which came out in 1859, was his first book. Malot wrote more than 70 books in all. Sans Famille (Nobody's Boy, 1878), about an orphan boy named Remi who is sold to a street musician when he is 8 years old, is by far his best-known book. Sans Famille became known as a book for kids, even though it wasn't written that way at first. In 1895, he said he was done writing fiction, but in 1896, he came back with the novel L'amour Dominateur and a book about his writing life called Le Roman de mes Romans (The Novel of my Novels). He died in 1907 in Fontenay-sous-Bois.
