Résumé :
Richard Convery, born in Belmont, New South Wales, Australia, has a rich journey to share. He worked for years in the disability support industry, helping back and neck pain sufferers, which he now calls his first mission field. In the 1990s, he ran a remedial therapy clinic for those sufferers, identifying with them deeply due to his own painful spinal abnormality. Doctors once told Convery he was destined to live wheelchair-bound, yet he overcame that diagnosis and has shared his story of recovery ever since-riding a jet ski to this day! While working with pain sufferers, writing became an integral part of Convery's vocation, and he penned the popular Back for Life: How to Dramatically Reduce Your Back Pain Without Pills, Equipment, or Money. A sequel, My Necks Book, followed soon after. Both titles were featured on primetime national TV on four networks in Australia, as well as in New Zealand and New Guinea, with Convery offering the books to viewers for free. Convery's travels have taken him throughout Europe, Africa, UK, USA, New Zealand, and India, where he learned first-hand the plight of Dalit children, and the seeds of novel Untouchable took root. Once self-described as not the slightest bit interested in finding God, God found Convery in 1985 at the deathbed of his beloved grandmother. Since that time, he has served on the board of missions for The Tent of Promise and Promise Faith Center, bringing people to salvation in 18 African countries. Today, Convery resides in Queensland, Australia, and continues to write, asking daily, What do you want me to write, Lord? and saying, Until He answers, the page remains blank. His upcoming books include the Crossroads trilogy, a work of fiction currently in production, and Thoughts for Today, an inspirational faith-based picture book.
