Making A Choice And The Coaching Conversation is for all those involved with coaching, whether as coachees, practitioners or those who use coaching as part of a management skillset. The author focusses on how we find ourselves repeating unhelpful patterns of behaviour. At work, this can lead to frustration, conflict and burn-out, which come with an uneasy sense that things are out of control. We tend to think of ourselves making smart decisions, encouraged in the notion of control and believing we are actively steering our own path. In reality, it's more complex and nuanced - and conscious choices feature rather less in our actions than we think. As a result, we can often sleepwalk into situations that are uncomfortable and even self-defeating. If we become more conscious in making our key choices, we are likely to see better results for ourselves and those around us. Making A Choice And The Coaching Conversation explores: ? Better choice-making for those being coached. We show how the brain's efforts to help us can instead lead us into trouble - and some of the things we can do to try to take back control. ? Biographie:
Ian is a post-graduate qualified executive coach and mentor. He spent some 20 years in the civil service before moving to the private sector as a management consultant specialising in strategy and transformation. His experience operating and delivering in large organisations brought him his fair share of personal 'stars and scars' - so he has a lived understanding of the opportunities and pressures that clients in large organisations can face. For most of his career, Ian was involved in the design and delivery of people development, as coach and trainer. In 2019, Ian set up Prodevuk? Limited to focus full-time on helping clients make better business choices and decisions.
