Présentation The Captain Format Broché
- Livre Littérature jeunesse
Résumé :
A young boy is disappointed by circumstances he can not control. In anger he takes out his sailboat, hoping to escape his problem. Suddenly, a storm comes up, blowing him off course. Lost at sea, he then finds himself marooned on an island. Instead of feeling fear and self pity, he actually enjoys himself exploring and observing nature. Unconsciously he discovers the freedom of letting life's setbacks go, and delights in accepting the circumstances for what they are, truly wonderful. The boy becomes the captain of his boat, in actuality, his attitude, and steers himself toward a happy resolution. The Captain is a picture book that can be listened to or read by anyone who needs help looking at a situation in a new and positive way.
Biographie:
Mary traveled extensively for many years, enjoying her hobby of photojournalism. As a travel agent, she explored the world as much as possible, eventually realizing she wanted to make a contribution to the world. Returning to college, Mary got her Bachelor of Science in Education, and then her Master of Education. For twenty years Mary taught reading to elementary age students. Science, foreign cultures, and human nature shape the picture books she writes for youngsters of all ages.
