Alan E. Nourse (1928-1992) was an American science fiction writer, physician, and medical nonfiction author whose work often joined scientific speculation with practical human consequence. He wrote both juvenile and adult science fiction, contributing to the magazine tradition that shaped mid-twentieth-century speculative fiction.
