Résumé :
The current chaotic scenario in the Brazilian prison system denounced in the media reveals the woes of a degraded recovery system with few possibilities of re-socialization. In this context, these problems are related to overcrowding, cells in unhealthy conditions and others. However, is there no way to re-socialize inmates? The book investigates the possibility of resocialization of inmates through education, with this, it inquires about the use of spaces for access to books and educational materials as aids in the process of education of inmates and how the prison library can fulfill its social role for people who are in closed regime, in Brazilian penitentiary institutions and what is the current situation of libraries within the prison units, highlighting the benefit of the library within the prison context, so that there can be more actions about this institution in this scenario. This book is dedicated to the understanding of all those involved in the improvement and effectiveness of prison systems, as well as librarians and educators who can act in this context....
