Set in the late 1800's, the story of Elizabeth begins in the city of Boston, Massachusetts. Orphaned and unafraid, she hurriedly jumps on a train to flee a desperate situation in hopes of a better life. Now forced to learn the survival tactics of the dangerous and deadly road, Elizabeth is befriended by a neighborly hobo who teaches her the ways of the haggard streets. Together, they embark on an unknown journey westward, requiring her to leave the only life she has ever known behind. In this story, Elizabeth learns the grit of endurance as she encounters new friends and new foes trekking the countryside. Join her on the pilgrimage to new life in the booming town of Harrisburg, Indiana....
Biographie:
Craig Leavitt is a Hoosier native and history connoisseur. His thirty-year career as a barber continues to provide him with more than just a trade-it awards him the gift of stories. Clients become friends as they sit in his barber chair, opening their lives. Years of stories have been Leavitt's inspiration for weaving together a collection of historical accounts and transforming them into fictional tales. Craig is a lifelong resident of Gas City, Indiana. He lives with his compassionate wife, Ann. Together, they have two grown children, Cole and Kait....
