Can you read the language written by God into your female body? Menstrual cycles are a vital sign for health, but they are also a very intimate part of who God has designed us to be as women. In this text, single Catholic women are invited to discover the rich Language of the Body written into and expressed through their unique menstrual cycles. Science and theology are woven together to teach the basics of cycle charting for health (not family planning) side-by-side with reflections on the meaning of this information in light of our faith. By learning about three key cycle biomarkers-cervical fluid, basal body temperature, and LH tests- you can identify ovulation in your cycle, gain valuable insights into your health, and incorporate your cycle more deeply into your identity as a beloved daughter of God. Ideal for young adult women, even those in religious life, this text invites us all to become body literate by observing, understanding, and responding generously to the ways God designed our bodies to communicate to us through our menstrual cycles.

Biographie:
Christina Valenzuela has been a certified Natural Family Planning instructor for over a decade. Her background includes academic degrees in theology, as well as extensive educational and ministerial experience working in the Catholic Church. In 2018, she founded Pearl & Thistle, LLC, to provide a new model of body literacy education for Catholics of all ages and stages. Her most recent book, The Language of Your Body: Embracing God's Design for Your Cycle was published by OSV in spring of '24. She and her husband live with their children in Massachusetts.
