Biographie: David J. Luke was raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Upon earning his Bachelor of Science in sociology and Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting at Grand Valley State University, he worked for nearly three years for a public accounting firm, earning his certified public accountant (CPA) license. David returned to higher education to study sociology at the University of Kentucky, earning his masters and PhD. He has published several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and has presented at various colleges and universities, businesses, and numerous regional and national conferences, including the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education (NADOHE), National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in American Higher Education (NCORE), and the annual meetings of the American Sociological Association (ASA) and Society for the Study of Social Problems (SSSP).
