      • Résumé :
What happens when a company continues to function... but no longer holds any truth? Over four decades, The Galp?n traces the quiet rise and slow erosion of HanssenBox, a logistics company shaped as much by ambition as by neglect. At its center are Ethan, a loyal manager who never leaves, and Oliver, an outsider who never fully belongs. Together, they navigate a structure sustained by convenience, where decisions are rarely wrong enough to collapse - but never right enough to endure. As alliances fracture and systems decay, what emerges is not the story of a company, but the anatomy of those who keep it alive: men who confuse intuition with talent, loyalty with submission, and control with vision. The galp?n - the warehouse - becomes more than a place of operations. It is where ideas are stored, where contradictions accumulate, and where the cost of not seeing begins to take form. Rather than asking how success is built, this novel asks a quieter question: what happens when no one is willing to see clearly? A work of literary fiction rooted in moral inquiry, The Galp?n explores power, negligence, myopia, and the fragile architecture of human judgment - where the greatest failure is not collapse, but the illusion of clarity....

        Biographie:
William Casta?o-Bedoya is an American writer based in Coral Gables, Florida. His work explores the emotional, ethical, and psychological dimensions of human relationships, often examining love, vulnerability, and the quiet tensions between power and compassion. After a long career in marketing and creative leadership, he turned fully to literature, developing a narrative style marked by depth, restraint, and a strong sense of interior life. He is the author of six novels, including The Intriguing Stillness of the Tides, his most recent work, as well as We the Other People: The Beggars of Mercury's Light, Ludovico, Flowers for Mar?a Sucel, The Galpon, and We'll Meet in Stockholm....

        Sommaire:
When the human condition is what directly induces the success or failure of a human being's endeavor, whoever does not evolve goes backwards... Likewise, although supposedly frivolous freedom is currently what governs the global market, its results are ultimately the consequence of man's influence. This is the essence of the corporate world, as William Castan?o-Bedoya puts it, in a novel with characters more loyal to profit and fundamentalism than their colleagues and employees. HanssenBox allows itself to wander, led by what its leaders see as destiny, at a time when technology and the online commercial market become industry titans. Ethan, the company's life manager, and Oliver, an outside consultant, star in that microcosm in a corner of the southeastern United States. The two work under the command of a businessman with a shady disposition who plunges them into episodes of mutual distrust, egocentrism, and insecurity. The lives of the characters are systematically affected by the weight of extremist ideologies and the omnipresence of an underhanded double standard . HanssenBox floats along the passage of circumstances imposed by fate in an era in which e-commerce undertakes a crushing advance without return. ...
