Her father was a hero to her. In part, because Bonnie LeVar was a lonely child whose mother was conspicuously absent. But also because Leonard Greene really was special: a genius aeronautical inventor, his Stall Warning Indicator is a crucial safety device on every airplane. He was a generous, devoted, fun-loving single parent to his three children. When he married Phyllis, Bonnie's life was complete; she had a stepmother she could call Mommy. Their blended family of eight children, growing up together in a New York City suburb in the 1950s and 1960s, seemed like an idyllic Camelot. Then the unthinkable occurs, and Bonnie is motherless again. Yet her father remains at the center, holding his sprawling family together, united by their careers in aviation safety. They somehow endure the tragedy of their brother's death on September 11th. But when Leonard Greene dies, Bonnie's grief is compounded by a shocking revelation from his lawyer.
