    • Résumé :
Once a Centurion rising through the ranks of the Legion of the Republic Julius had his eyes set on the future and glory. There was a time when Julius Lucius, the bodyguard of Velletri's champion, saw slaves, even gladiators as property to be made use of. He never dreamed that one day he would become one. It was a tactical error on a simple mission that changed everything in his world. One morning he was a soldier and the next he woke as a prisoner that would be forced into slavery to survive. His hatred for his captors was matched only by his desire to be free. Until the line between love and hate blurred, then disappeared entirely. A person of influence and power among the villagers that were using Julius as a beast of burden in their fields became a friend though kind words and small gestures of mercy. Slowly hatred turned to love between them and the need for escape became paramount. The villagers would never understand the love and passion that they shared. A late-night breakout set them on the path back to Rome but became an unrelenting hunt. They were running a race against those who sought to put an arrow in the back of the slave or the acolyte who loved him....

      Sommaire:
Born in Hardisty, Alberta M. Francis developed an undeniable love of reading at an early age. Homeschooled during her primary years, her mother not only taught the basics to her five children, but she also read to them at least twice a day. From Anne of Green Gables to Tolkien's Lord of the Rings the stories and the people behind them instilled a love of the written word. As soon as she could hold a pencil M. Francis began to write her own stories. Her first complete work was 'Monkey Millionaires' in which a pair of monkeys became millionaires by selling ice cream. While it was a huge hit amongst the kids in the neighborhood it was just the beginning. After discovering the TV show Spartacus, and full immersion into that fandom, M. Francis was disappointed to find there was very little fiction to satisfy her desire to indulge a love of Roman era romance. The spark was then lit to write the stories she wanted to read herself. From gladiators and the beauty of ancient Rome she has moved on to other book heroes, some ancient knights such as those in the beloved Cast From Camelot series and others of the racier, more contemporary type in the MC romance series The Dukes of Hell. There is no hero archetype or book boy-friend she doesn't intend to bring to the page and to the hands of her loyal readers. Despite some eye-opening experiences (it's not as glamorous a profession as the movies would have you believe) she would not change her journey in the slightest. When she is not working or writing, M. Francis is a single parent to a little girl. Nothing makes her happier than when her daughter tells her that she wants to be a writer, Just like you, Mommy. So, to keep inspiring a very special little girl, and to bring some elements of the romance of real life to some not-so-little girls, she is pleased to be writing as M. Francis Lamont and bring you The Champion's Prize the first of her nine volume centurion saga The Champions and many more stories to come from those series already established: The Dukes of Hell, Cast from Camelot, The Champions and Dirty Little Secrets, as well as new ones yet to be released. She encourages everyone to Live with Passion. Live with Purpose. And most important of all, Never Lose. Welcome to the beginning of something wonderful....
