Résumé :
Meetra Nahavandi grew up in Madison, Wisconsin in a loving home surrounded by her parents and older brother. From the beginning of life, she was met with multiple challenges; emergency surgery to repair myelomeningocele at birth, surgery to relieve hydrocephalus at nearly 3 months old and learning to walk at two years old with a walker. She went to school, played with her friends, and never thought of herself as being any different than her peers; until the bullying began. Feeling like an outcast, Meetra persevered years of bullying and mocking remarks from peers and was able to rise above it stronger. From navigating school, independent living, experiencing her first love, solo international travel, mental health scares and finally to rising above challenges as a disabled adult in our society, Meetra's powerful memoir sheds light on an incredible life living with a physical disability in a world that was not equipped to see her thrive. Being thrown into the unknown clich? of too able to be disabled paved the way for much of Meetra's passions and endeavors. Join this journey as Meetra shares her defiance and says, Watch me... to all those who did not believe she would succeed or thrive.
