Biographie:
A clinical counsellor who works with adults, teens, and families, as well as a recent first-time grandmother, author L.J. Harwood has loved writing ever since she was a child. In 2021, she published her first children's book, Orange Cat Grey Cat - Purrfect Opposites, which she has now followed-up with Tight Knit, a story inspired by her own family's excitement as they awaited a new addition. The title phrase holds a special place in her heart as it refers not only to the day-to-day traditions of her family but to a nesting ritual of her daughter's, in which she knitted while preparing for her new baby, eventually completing three toques, for Mommy, Daddy, and new baby, which were worn on the way home from the hospital. With Tight Knit, Harwood hopes she has captured that sweet anticipation and love in a meaningful way. With her large extended family, Harwood lives in Airdrie, Alberta, where she enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors, hiking, biking, and snowshoeing the area's beautiful prairies and nearby mountains. Though she loves her adventures, travelling and experiencing new cultures, it's the time she spends at home with her family that she cherishes the most. And this has never been truer than it is right now, as she watches her daughter growing into a wonderful mother in her own right. She also treasures the opportunity to start looking at the world through the eyes of her first grandson, with whom she looks forward to jumping in mud puddles, hand in hand.
