Présentation The Last Apache Girl de Fergus Jim Format Broché
- Livre Anglais loisir
Résumé :
When Ned Giles is orphaned as a teenager, he heads west, hoping to leave his troubles behind. He joins in 1932 Great Apache Expedition, raised to search for a young boy, the son of a wealthy Mexican landowner, who has been kidnapped by wild Apaches. But matters become complicated when they come across a wild Apache girl in a Mexican jail cell, herself the victim of a Mexican massacre of her tribe that has left her orphaned, wild with fear, and incapable of eating or speaking. As Ned and the expedition make their way through the rugged Sierra Madre Mountains, his growing feelings for the trouble girl soon force him to choose allegiances and make a decision that will haunt him forever. Based on historical fact, The Last Apache Girl is a vivid novel of heroism and heartbreaking consequence, illuminated by the vast landscape of Arizona and the Mexican borders, which brings to life the last vestiges of the mythic West.
